Hi Guys, my first post here, glad that I found this board. I'm on extensive research to decide on which Kerui system I want to get started with. With my budget I sorted out these 3. The features matter to me are - Prefer WiFi+Landline connection (GSM need a simcard with monthly fees) - Arm/Disarm directly from wall unit (with delay entry alarm) so my old folks can exit/enter without using smartphone, not intend to bring the remote control out along as this means more things to carry, probably use it as SOS button in sleeping room. - Wide coverage area (my land area 40 x 80ft with 2 storeys, detectors may be at different storeys and 60ft away through multiple concretes wall) Things that I concerned from reviews I found - WiFi connection seems to be very unreliable with many issues, while GSM unit seems much more stable Some questions here need your kind comments 1. Only W1 is Wifi+Landline, but is the Wifi connection really so bad that I better pay simcard fees monthly to use the G/W18? 2. Only G/W18 has keypad to arm/disarm from it, it has to be placed near entrance so my folks can disarm it within the delay alarm time, but this also means any intruders can destroy the unit before alarm sound? 3. Could this means a W1 + K16 keypad is best fit my needs? Where I can hide W1 away and put K16 near entrance. I don't mind to use PW for arm/disarm as I understand the RFID only works to disarm when the system is arm by K16. 4. Any other major functions difference between W1 and G/W18? Dilemma of getting W1 save simcard cost, but bear with Wifi issues. or get G18 and pay some fees to be worry free.

If Wifi issues are your only concern, I can tell you after 3 month of using the W1 that they aren't . W1 and the corresponding app are connecting quite stable. Haven't had any outage since then. But the app(s) are having some bugs, even though the iOS app is after the latest update quite stable.

I just tried install the W1 app from playstore, and register an account on it while my phone on 4G. However when i'm other network (home wifi eg), the app log me out and cant log in and cant reset password. once i switch back 4G it auto login again. did u experience this?

Yer GSM SIM card rental doesn't appeal to me either. We used have a telco here in the land of OZ offering pay as you use $2 a year SIM card which was brilliant for GPS trackers and alarms. That doesn't exist anymore so GSM is out for me as well.
Do you have a Kerui unit already "installed W1 app"? I would advise against W1 as it is APP based only and won't suit your folks.
The android app is full of bugs and in the last 3 months they released major update which has corrupted the login information area. For some people the app keeps forgetting details, for others they are experiencing what you are.
Concrete is the nemisis of radio frequency, but as a consolation the detectors are 400Mhz which is lower frequency and the good thing about low frequency wave is it penetrates better eg the detectors have a much better chance of getting through that concrete than your WIFI 2.4Ghz signal so your alarm panel will need to be closer to your router (gsm is around 800mhz so it too will be better than WIFI).
You can install WIFI extender in a power socket halfway between your wifi router and your alarm panel, range extenders offer poor bandwidth so generally smart tv's and computers don't run so well of range extenders but your alarm doesn't need to transfer much data per second so a wifi range extender will be fine.
You can also buy 400Mhz range extenders off ebay for the detectors if you need.
All the wall mount units have microswitch at the back, if the unit is pulled from the wall the alarm activates the app and outside/inside sirens which will keep screaching even if the pad is destroyed.
Beaware the outside alarm W1 makes 2 very loud beeps whenever you arm/disarm the unit with anything other than the app. So when you arm/disarm W1 with K16 the outside alarm screeches twice. It is so annoying I stopped using my keyfobs and the K16 pad altogether.

Hi Russel, the cheapest Sim here cost USD7/month (convert to my currency which is alot). nope i'm still deciding on my first Kerui purchase. yes their APP definitely will be a trouble for my folks, thats why K16 come into my mind. I think i saw in the other post another member here showed you can disable the arm/disarm sound by toggle the switch under your remote icon. Yer GSM SIM card rental doesn't appeal to me either. With a SIM card at least there is a backup.

True point, however the alarm would still work locally, as most of the sensors are running on batteries or are having backup batteries, e.g. like the alarm unit snd sirens...

I believe the W2 has more features than the W1 which is the base unit not just communication type but more options in the settings etc. So yes W2 is better than W1. Yer like chris said all units have batteries in them so they will continue to function after the power has been cut the only thing that won't happen on wifi only alarm units is you just won't get notified on the app. Unless of course you by a UPS (which aren't overly expensive) and connect your modem too it.
