Can someone please help me understand how the sensor attributes and codes work? What are the differences? For example, I want my front door to chime when someone walks in, but also alarm when they system is armed (both arm options, home/stay etc). What attributes could I use for this? What do the other attributes and codes do?
Also, a second question: is there a way to make the alarms go off immediately instead of staying 'zone 1 alarming' then a pause then the siren goes off.
Specs: I have a w193 which is like a w18/w19 (I think). My wireless siren is a J008. I don't have a physical siren (yet).

Hi James,
I have a W1 but I'd pretty much say the logic is the same across the models.
1. You can bind many detectors to a zone, but you can't bind one detector to many zones. 2. A zone can only have 1 zone type at a time eg if you set Zone 1 to doorbell, everytime any of the detectors in that zone are trigger your alarm will make the doorbell sound. 3. You can not automatically multipurpose a zone eg make it a doorbell and alarm. But you could manually change the zone type whenever you want from one to the other.
For you wanting the front door to be a chime + alarm. I recommend 2 door sensors, bind 1 to the and alarm zone and the other to a doorbell zone.
There is settings on each zone you can control delay's. If they don't help you that's probably the best you are going to get it.
With my J008 I fitted a power point in my roof and then used an extension cord to take power to the plug pack for J008 so it's got power 24/7.

Hi Russel, I think I got the front door to act as a chime and alarm. I set the attribute to chime and the code to burglar and siren to on. So when the system is disarmed it says welcome. When I arm it to home mode it fires the alarm... I am confused about the attributes and codes because I don't know what each different setting does. e.g. event codes: burglar vs robbery or attributes: urgent vs normal etc... Are they just used for whats logged/pushed to notifications? A few more questions if you don't mind (there's not a lot of forums around for this system I was so happy when I found yours): 1) I saw another one of your posts saying the J008 chirps when armed. I'm noticing this too. Did you ever find a way to prevent that? Does the W2 for sure have an option to prevent that? Could it be one of these settings in my panel under "Wireless Siren settings"? "Wireless Siren: off/on", "Output with alarm: off/on"? 2) If I plug a wired siren into the aux port of my panel (I didn't buy one yet), does that play the chime too (louder) or just the siren alarming noise? So far on day one I like the system. The range is great, maybe because I just started using the batteries, well see. Time to stick the sensors everywhere...

This video shows how to disable the chirp. I haven't had a chance yo try it yet... I don't know if all the APPs are the same but Mechanix has located a way on the W1 app to stop it thread I have tested and can confirm it works on the W1 app. Hopefully it is the same for other versions as well.
