The idea looks good, but if you are thinking commercial coolroom application I would give wide birth. I have done jobs for companies that have monitored coolrooms and it is very difficult to get a wireless signal out of a coolroom because they are a big metal box. This is why it's always best to get wireless units that have a 1-2 meter probe on a cord so the probe can go in the coolroom and the unit on the outside of the coolroom wall so it can send out wireless signal. If you only have glass display fridge then no problem. It is metal that shields signals.
