I could not find this anywhere.
Planning to use this with the W1 According to the manual it is possible to unarm the alarm. But I could not find if it is also possible to arm the alarm with a tag or do you need to key in a code?

Don't now for sure, but common sense wise it doesn't bring a lot to insert the code to arm. Ideally you want to arm as quickly and conveniently as possible, while you want a hurdle for disarming the system. Other systems I've used in the past worked that way, too.

I've just swiped my tag over it and nope the tag only dis-arms it and only if you used the K16 keypad to arm you system. If you used the app to arm your system the tag doesn't disarm the system. The reason why is because K16 has it's memory it talks to your alarm unit, but the alarm unit doesn't talk to it. So when you use the app K16 doesn't even know the system is armed. Whereas when you used the keypad on K16 to arm your alarm unit K16 remains in an armed state and will accept a swipe from the RFID tag to disarm.

Thanks for the responses!
Too bad arming does not work with the tag.. I can see my kids finding it too much of an hassle to insert a code, or my mother not understanding how all the buttons work when she waters the plants while we are on holiday..
Might still buy it to help deter burglars

I think it would be a good option to use RFID tag to unlock unit (instead enter pin code). Then user can press arm, disarm or home arm buttons.

Hi, I must disagree on the fact that the K16 panel only "disarm" when you have used the K16 panel to "arm". My tests shows that I can use a remote or the APP(W19) to "arm" and then use the RFID tag to "disarm" on the K16 panel. The only thing I have to do before using the RFID tag on the K16 panel, is to push one of the buttons on the panel to "wake it up" from it´s sleep mode, before applying the RFID tag to it. My alarm is an KR-W193. //Calux
