Hello everyone, I'm glad I happened to find this forum.
I'm ready to to replace my ancient X10 security system. I am considering the K7 or the W193. Does anyone know if the K7 supports 3G in USA? Does it support the "ready to arm" feature with the 2-way door sensors?
The W193 does support 3G with AT&T. W193 also has ready to arm feature and PSTN.
I can't seem to find a user manual for the K7 to answer my questions, only a product info page.

Does anyone know if the K7 supports 3G in USA? Best place to start is to find out (google) what 3G bandwidths AT&T supports eg 1900Mhz and see if it fits into any of these 850/900/1800/1900Mhz ( source - alibaba). I can't seem to find a user manual for the K7 to answer my questions, only a product info page. I'll keep my eyes out for one I had a quick look but can only find the GSM version keruizone.boards.net/post/76/thread

Does it support the "ready to arm" feature with the 2-way door sensors? I just received my k7 and I did see this feature in the menu. Havent had much time with it so im not even sure what that does, but its there.

So far so good, I'd give it a strong 8 out of 10. The 2 points it loses is more due to annoying quirks in the programming rather than safety/security concerns, so overall I'm very pleased. There are very few downloads of the K7 app, so the few programming issues there are not likely to be fixed anytime soon, but the alarm is functional. The app issues are related to scheduled programming for smart sockets which seems sporadic, and cant be removed once added. You can edit the times and sockets, but at least 4 times a week your alarm panel is going to say "Zero two on" etc. Im sure i can uninstall and reinstall the app to clear it, but setting it up initially took me probably 30 minutes so its not worth it.
The few annoying problems I have are probably minor to most people.
Ready To Arm - sometimes when a window with a sensor has been opened then closed and i go to arm the system it tells me that sensor is still not ready. Ive opened and closed it over and over without success. I turn off ready to arm, arm the system, disarm, and turn ready to arm back on and now the sensor is fine. Im going to test if the alarm sounds next time if that sensor is supposedly not ready, if thats the case its not a big deal.
Screen timeout- The screen times out very quickly when you are trying to add sensors, remotes, smart outlets, etc. Its okay if youre trying to add a sensor because those are very quick to add, but when you are adding a socket or another device for the first time (with no instructions) its annoying to have to start from the beginning of the menu many times.
The alarm panels power cord sticks out of the side. This is going to make mounting it to a wall hard to do if youre like me and need a clean finished look. I wish it was on the back, I would run the power through the wall to hide the cables. I may end up putting the main panel in the master bedroom with me and just installing another wireless keypad on the wall by the front door, but I would definitely need a range extender as that would put the system on another floor. It feels like I am already maxed out on distance with my garage doors being maybe 40 feet and half a dozen walls away.
When a call comes in or goes out from the panel tbe screen turns a little glitchy, almost like static from the sim card antenna or something. I can still read it, its just annoying.
Sorry, I dont have any experience with other kerui systems or any other brand except for an old school protect america system the seemed old 10 years ago when I had it. It blows that system out of the water in terms of looks and features. In terms of alarm reliability it at least equals it.

Sorry for the long winded answer, hard to see how long it is from my cell phone... Hopefully theres some good info in the anyway. Feel free to ask whatever, im happy to help out Long is good and I can see from your sentence heading there that you have applied some logic too it Not to worry we are all ears. I think there a few of us who dipped our toes in the water with Kerui by going with W1 first as a safe bet but are looking at K7 and sort of wondering if it is just W1 in a more sleeker box or does it actually have something more to offer other than a beautiful design. Your input is going to form a big part of our decision. You say your hooking up some smart points, did you manage to see how many events are you allow to create? It's just that W1 only allows 4 events and given On is one event and off is a 2nd event realistically if you turn a socket on your going to turn it off again. So 4 events only works out as 2 and if you wanted to automate your house using W1 and smart sockets you got no chance. Not that it is a 100% fix for the power cord sticking out issue, but you should be able to hunt down on ebay a right angled usb so you can go straight back into the wall. I take it K7 has a battery in (in fact I feel stupid saying it). When you are adding the sensors are you on battery power or have you got the unit running of the USB power? Some programmers will make the screen timeout quick if it is on battery power only to conserve the battery. I've got a wall mount keypad the K16 which I don't actually use because on the W1 alarm when I arm or dis-arm with the K16 pad the outside siren beeps loudly 2 twice (same with my key fobs) so I am pure app use. But if you want to know any questions about it feel free to ask or open up a thread under K16 section. Range extender we don't have anyone yet post anything about this, if you do get one feel free to share your thoughts.

Ready to arm only for wireless sensor & does not support wired sensor. If your pstn output is from your ont (Optical Network Terminal aka fibre broadband modem), it will not work on digital phone line.
