Wondering how long I can expect batteries in the DO25 ... for a high traffic door (family of 4 using it several times a day per person each).
Is there a low battery indicator either on the device or on the base unit (W10) in my case?

The door sensor battery life of the D026 sensor is bad in comparison to my previous alarm system. This is due to the battery used in the sensor. It's a small 12v battery that has too less power when used in an area with high traffic. They last in my situation only 3 to 4 months. When calculated back into times triggered it is between 750-1000 times. I opened one battery and it contains 8 very small button cells of the type LR32. Still amazing that they work that amount of time. The greatest problem however is that when battery is low you will not be notified when you have no sim card installed. By SMS you will be notified with a message telling "01 Zone Low battery" every time the sensor is triggered. If you have no sim card installed you will receive no messages and in end the sensor will not work any more. You will only be notified if you sensor has a dead battery when you have set a chime on this sensor that does not sound any more when triggered. So it is a good practice to check all sensors every year. To avoid having to change the battery every 4 months on places with heavy traffic I made an external battery with 3x 18650 batteries (secretly mounted) giving me 12v and many years of error free operation.

I noticed that my DO25 had the red LED on all the time, and wouldn't turn it off until I changed battery, was that a low battery indication or just a flaw?

Is there a low battery indicator either on the device or on the base unit (W10) in my case? W10 doesn't not have any battery indicators for devices. The DO25 which is the rectangle type unit the LED will do a rapid firing weakening flash, instead of the solid long flash when the battery is low. I'd say around 3 months life span out of the batteries you get off ebay (not sure how long the expensive batteries last). I always buy a 5 pack off ebay and keep in cupboard and change as needed.
