Looking for some help. I have the W18 with wifi and I am unable to to get the unit to connect with using the App W18 which I downloaded from the Apple App Store. Wondering if anyone had any advice. Otherwise this unit is going back because it’s a paper weight. Plus, I can’t get my SIM card to work either. I live in Canada, not sure if that changes anything.
Thanks Dan

Wifi configuration work with Mobile app together. on mobile app, register/ log in> choose wifi mode> add device> configure> ( please make sure your phone is connected to the wifi where your alarm want to connect to) > choose " I want to configure" > then select wifi network and enter password. Prepare your w18 > menu> wifi> wifi config ( option1) > enter then press " start configure" on mobile app. it will find device and set up wifi.
It work with 2G GSM SIMS only. some network operator do not support 2G. they produce 3G SIM only. You can ask your network operator if their SIM work with 2G GSM phone. it should work on w18 if the SIM work with 2G GSM phone ( please check supported Frequency )

Hi, i had the same problem. This W18 is connecting to WIFI only at 2.4G band. You need to make sure that, your phone and your unit is connecting at this band. To do this, you will need to enter into your router config and de-activate the 5G wifi band and leave only the 2.4G active. Normally it is quite simple. Then, reboot your router, reboot the W18 and reboot your phone. You will now see the W18 unit on your W18 application. After this you can turn on the 5G band and reboot your router. The 2.4G band is used only for the initial application config. the W18 is now reacheable by your phone application through WIFI or 3/4G cellular band without the need of putting a SIM card into the W18.
good luck

The Kerui W18 is not able to ask the router when 7 and 1 is activated to configure and to connect throuht W18 app (prgramming failure in factory in alarm board) or the W 18 is asking the router in such a way to connect that he is not understanding him, it is mentioned that routers mabe block such asks from the board that has no correct factory settings. A wifi ip camera N62 from Kerui is appearing in W 18 app but the alarm board W 18 Wifi is not appearing. (2.4 Wifi was proved).

А factory reset was also not helping in connecting the W18 Wifi alarm board and the W 18 app to my network.

The Kerui W18 does not have a valid MAC adress. For using Wifi every device (Gadget or alarm board) should have a valid MAC adress for identifying in wifi - network the device. It seems that Kerui or Kerui stores are professional factory maniacs that maybe illegally copying their gsm KR-G18 alarm boards. They put into the W18 a G18 GSM alarm board and new wifi soft which is false indicating wifi but without mac adress there is no wifi. So in effect Kerui stores on aliexpress are illegally distributing W18 (in real they dont do W18 model - on website www.secrui.com they dont have such a model -only KR-18 model which mabe have Wifi).

Be aware the W 18 software is only a trick to take the police away from factory maniacs. In effect the GSM KR-G18 is working properly with detectors without wifi and maybe the police would not investigate them seriously. But the byuers would not be satisfied and loosed money for GSM.

With w18 you can only connect it to wifi using the APP and your phone must be connected to the 2.4Ghz band on your wifi, there is nothing mentioned about wifi channels and whether it works on higher channels such as channel 15. Maybe you could login to your modem admin area and check what channel your wifi is currently on 1-8 will definitely be compatible.

Hi there
I've set my bt home hub to 2.4 and disabled 5. I'm on band 1 rather than a higher band and I have wpa2 security.
I've followed the app instructions and numerous walkthroughs I've even factory reset the device several times and had to 're pair every individual sensor....
anything else I can try before returning the product as faulty.

WiFi works provided that you use 2.4GHz band, and the SSID does not contain any spaces (or probably funny characters)

Abdul - I think that the alarm system doesn't like wifi passwords that contain anything other than simple letters and numbers - no fancy characters or spaces
